Taxi Service
- Tuk-tuks (three-wheeled vehicles) service is one of the famous transportations in Sri Lanka and can be hired for short distance.
- 'Pick me' or 'Uber apps' are available in play-store to contact taxi drivers on online.
- Metered taxis are available in some cities and there is taxi drivers are on crowded places.
- Before the ride, make sure to negotiate with drivers.
Bus Service
- Sri Lanka's bus network is affordable, with buses connecting major cities and villages.
- Two sectors run buses, government-run buses are the cheapest option that you can have, however private buses offer more comfort.
- Town has main bus holts, and you can take the bus from them.
- There are some buses go on highways while some buses go on expressway, always make sure, when you get in to the bus.
Railway Service
- Sri Lanka's railway network is one of the scenic and affordable way to travel long distance.
- Railway connect major cities like Colombo, Kandy, Galle and Jaffna and also provide ride through the hill country.
- Colombo to Kandy and Badulla is the most scenic railway, providing breathtaking views of mountains, waterfalls and tea plantations.
- There are 3 classes on the train, with 1st class offers air-conditioned comfort, 2nd class offers reserved seats while 3rd class provides the most affordable option.
