 Generally, Sri Lanka is a safe country that allows any person to travel without having troubles. However, It is important to have own safety and stay informed. By taking basic safety precautions, you can have a enjoyable and safety experience.

  • Sri Lanka is a low crime rate country, but petty crimes like pickpocketing and bag snatching can occur.
  • Stay updated on local events, weather and news and pay attention to your belongings, especially when you are in crowded places.
  • Avoid travel alone at night, especially in rural areas.
  • Try to use credit card and travel's checks, then it avoids carrying large amount of money.
